Marissa Cole
Marissa is the first Director of Policy and Practice for the Alliance.
Prior to this role, Marissa served as the Managing Director for the CERES Institute for Children & Youth and the Center for Promise at Boston University/America’s Promise Alliance. Both entities were focused on supporting policy change and informing practice through high-quality, rigorous research and national strategic initiatives that centered the voices and experiences of children and youth.
Prior to that, Marissa served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Education, supporting the interagency and legislative priorities of the secretariat. Before rejoining state government, Marissa spent two years as the Assistant Director for the Rennie Center for Education Research & Policy. Marissa began her career as the Legislative and Budget Director for Massachusetts State Senator Edward M. Augustus, Jr. Marissa has an EdM in Education Policy & Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BA in Child Development from Tufts University. She is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
Sujeidy Palmer
Sujeidy is the Director of Program Innovation for the Alliance.
Before this role, Sujeidy held many roles at Teach For America, most recently serving as the Massachusetts region’s Senior Managing Director of Teacher Leadership Development. In this role, she focused on the training, preparation, and ongoing coaching teachers received as they entered the workforce.
Sujeidy is a Boston native and started her career as a middle school reading teacher in Lawrence. Sujeidy received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a focus on Family and Juvenile Justice from the University of New Haven.
Erika Giampietro
Erika is the founding Executive Director of the Massachusetts Alliance for Early College.
Prior to this role, Erika served as Senior Advisor to the Chair of the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education. In this capacity, she built expertise in areas critical to the success of Early College in MA. She facilitated a burgeoning coalition around Early College, helped draft and advance legislation and policy related to Early College, partnered alongside the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Department of Higher Education in growing the initiative, and provided technical assistance to a group of Early College programs. Prior to that, Erika worked in the Boston Public Schools for seven years serving in a variety of roles, including Deputy CFO, Interim CFO, and Special Assistant to the Superintendent. While at BPS, Erika oversaw the district’s $1B budget, facilitated strategic planning for the Superintendent, and co-authored a long term financial plan for the district. Prior to joining BPS, Erika spent 6 years in management consulting and education consulting. Erika has a B.S. in Business from The University of Virginia and an executive education certificate from the Harvard Business School. She is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
Sabrina Marte
Sabrina is an Intern with the Massachusetts Alliance for Early College.
Sabrina (Sabi) is a first-generation Latina student at Merrimack College studying Social Justice with a minor in Law, Ethics, and Society, focusing on Public Policy. She has been working for the Alliance for three years, co-leading the Early College Policy Fellowship. Sabi’s motivation is to help other low-income minority students succeed in higher education. She is motivated daily by her story and her passion for helping other people.
Cameron Mendes-Moreau
Cameron is the Senior Manager of Network and Engagement for the Massachusetts Alliance for Early College, and supports the Alliance’s convening and coalition-building.
Prior to this role, Cam served as Opportunity Youth Manager at the Boston Private Industry Council (PIC), where he convened two coalitions focused on education and workforce development for youth and young adults. In that role, he worked to advance policy and practice priorities to improve education and career outcomes for underserved students and young adults. Through this work, Cam built a foundation of experience in convening collective impact initiatives, and honed his commitment to the career and life success of students and families. Prior to working at the PIC, Cam was in graduate school at Brandeis University’s Heller School of Social Policy and Management, where he earned a Master of Public Policy and a Social Impact MBA.
Chessye Moseley
Chessye is the founding Deputy Director of the Massachusetts Alliance for Early College.
Prior to this role, Chessye built context and expertise through her work on the Early College team at Empower Schools. In this capacity, she supported burgeoning coalition efforts, helped lead key policy and advocacy efforts related to Early College, and provided technical assistance to a group of Early College programs. She also created and leads Early College Policy Fellowship designed for former Massachusetts Early College students interested in creating systems-level change and expanding high-quality Early College programs. Prior to her work with Early College, Chessye held many roles at Teach for America, the most recent being as Director of Individual Giving in Massachusetts. Chessye started her career as a middle school reading teacher in Colorado. Chessye holds a B.A. in Government from Harvard University and is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
Brissa Teodoro
Brissa is the Senior Manager of Organizing for the Massachusetts Alliance for Early College, and will be supporting the Alliance’s student, parent, and family engagement efforts.
Prior to this role, Brissa served as a College Access Fellow at 10,000 Degrees, a Bay Area based nonprofit in California. In this role, she helped design the Early College and Career Awareness (ECCA) program where she led efforts in creating, designing, and implementing content and curriculum for students in grades 8-11. Through this work, Brissa built a foundation for the ECCA program, formed strong relationships with school staff and stakeholders, and maintained strong relationships with her students. Brissa received her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Studies with an emphasis on Education and she received her Masters of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Lisbeth Tineo
Lisbeth Tineo is an Intern with the Massachusetts Alliance for Early College.
Lisbeth is an upcoming sophomore at Barnard College of Columbia University, with interest in studying human rights, political science, and public policy. She earned 15 credits through Merrimack College’s Early College program, where she gained a love for human rights through taking an Introduction to Government class. Lisbeth, a former Early College Policy Fellow, is a strong advocate for the Massachusetts Early College Initiative because she personally experienced the difference these programs can make in student’s lives.
